In the spirit of expressing ourselves in order to learn more about things we all take for granted, like the daily routine of school life, this blog posting focuses specifically on your experience in this English class - Mr. Rendine's English 2 - through the 2008-2009 school year to date.
What are your thoughts about English 2 this year? What experiences or people in English have stood out as important for you? What feelings have resulted from your experiences in English?
I'm going to leave this open-ended, so you may take your comments about this class in any direction you choose, on the condition that you focus on what has been most important and meaningful to you as a student in English 2.
Thank you in advance for continuing to help me create a learning environment that is worthwhile for all students. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

I think, English II this year was fun and the books that we read in class were interesting to read. I liked it when we watched movies on the books because the movies made it easier for me to understand the Shakespeare’s play like Othello. I also enjoyed doing mini projects after reading the book like the map for Catcher in the Rye and the play that we did for Othello. I also think that it was fun how Mr. Rendine teaches and how he tries to make reading fun. People in group were important because they helped me out and sometime I helped them out. We worked together on homework and it made it easier for everybody in the group. Now I am little more open with my personal stuff to other students

My thoughts on English II this year are generally that I like it, It's a class that i actually enjoy going to every day. As far as the classwork goes it isn't too bad its fairly easy to me and the books that we are required to read aren't that bad or boring as i thought they would be which is a plus. This year, English class is enjoyable especially because I like the teacher and don't worry I'm not brown nosing you Mr. Rnedine, but I think that half the experience in class is the teacher, it's the teacher that determines if my time in that class will be good or bad because if I have to spend 1/8th of my day with you and i don't like you, neither of us will be happy but since your'e a good teacher and a nice person i really enjoy your class. The experiences that stood out in your class for me were not what we had to do in the cirriculum but just the people in your class, it is just a fun class that i would never forget. The feelings that have resulted from my experiences in english are that it is a class that i will always look back on, more like the highlight of the year for me.
ReplyDeleteThis year I think English 2 was extremely easy for me. The whole year for homework, all that we have done was mainly vocabulary, blogging, and simple worksheets. The blogging I like because easy to do, you pretty much get free points for doing it, and I kind of like doing it. In class the whole year, we have mainly done reading books, learning new and old vocabulary, and grammar review. Overall the books I disliked because they are not from our time period, the vocabulary was simple, and the grammar was boring. But this year was the first year that I got an English term paper. Even though it was not as long as World Civilization (8- 10 pages), but it was still pretty long and a learning experience. Throughout the year, Mr. Rendine has at the beginning of each marking period assigned us new seats with new people. Usually I would dislike this, but this year I didn’t mind it. So over all this was easy, but a learning experience.

ReplyDeletei HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT ENGLISH, NOTHING DIRECT, DUE TO THE ASSIGNMENT WE HAVE TO DO IN ENGLISH CLASS IS WHEN IT DEPENDS, eNGLISH IS A GREAT SUBJECT TO HAVE DURING YOUR SCHOOL SCHEDULE, NOT ONLY BECAUSE WE SPEAK ENGLISH BUT BECAUSE IT HAS HISTORY IN IT TOO. ALL OF MY ENGLISH TEACJERS THTA I HAD DURING MY SCHOOL YEARS ,I THINK THEY TAUGHT IT VERY WELL, IT SHOWED HOW MUCH THEY ARE INTO IT TOO, AND HOW MUCH OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE THEY ARE ABLE TO SHARE WITH US. PERSONALLY ENGLISH IS ONE OF MY STRONGEST SUBJECT.

English 2 for me this year was really easy we basically learned much of what I already knew. We did a lot more reading this year though than in previous years. The experiences in English 2 that were important to me is just touching up on my grammar and things like that. I really kind of liked the blogs and how we got to voice our own opinion. Actually this year in English has given me that extra push to go out and do honors English next year! I am also thinking about going to college to be and English teacher. I think English is very easy and teaches us more then any other school subject.

My experience in English class this year was a little different then everyone else's. I still completed all the work that my other classmates did but I just did it at home or the Abington Free Library. I was on homebound and I loved it. I had a teacher one on one for an hour once every week. The schedule was very easy and flexible. so I loved my english class this year. Its very easy to understand the material when you have one on one help and can work at my own pace.
ReplyDeleteWell, English 2 was actually a lot of fun, a lot more fun than I had expected a 10th grade English class to be. I think that there were many moments that stood out to me, especially when thinking back to how it compares to other English classes. This blog stands out as a big thing, because in past English classes I hadn’t used the computer to do much more than type up papers. The term paper stood out to me, but not completely in a bad way, it was kind of fun, in its own way. The multiple desk changes made it refreshing to come to class and just have it not be repetitive. I think that I have gained a better respect for literature as more than just a chore to do in English class. Overall, I think that this year will stick in my mind as both a happy one, and, on some smaller level, a quite difficult one.
